Most lists of interactive demo software read like a feature dump. Every tool captures, every tool has hotspots, and every tool has a free plan of some kind. The useful differences sit lower down. What can you change on a captured screen, what do you own when you stop paying, and at what price does each feature unlock.
The short answer. Proovyt is our pick for teams that want to change what a screenshot says, keep an HTML file of the demo, and pay a public price from one person. The other six tools below are described from vendor pricing pages and documentation read on 6 October 2026. Prices change, so check each vendor before you buy.

What Interactive Demo Software Does
An interactive demo is a click-through copy of your product. A viewer clicks a hotspot, the next step appears, and they walk through a flow without signing up or booking a call. The software records the flow, lets you edit each step, and hosts or embeds the result. If you are new to the format, start with what an interactive product demo is.
Most tools capture in one of two ways.
- Screenshots. Each click saves an image of the screen. Fast and reliable, but the text is part of the picture.
- HTML. The tool records the page itself, so text stays text and the step stays sharp at any zoom. This is where most vendors charge more.
The difference is covered in depth in screenshot demos versus HTML demos.
How We Compared the Tools
We looked at the same five things for every tool.
- Capture. Screenshot, HTML or both, and on which plan.
- Editing depth. Whether you can change text and numbers on a captured screen, and on which plan.
- Sharing and ownership. Link, embed, and whether you can keep a file that plays without the vendor.
- Price ladder. The free plan, the entry plan and the plan where the main features unlock.
- Honest gaps. What each tool does not do, Proovyt included.
1. Proovyt
Proovyt turns a click-through of your product into an interactive demo. Each click becomes a step with a hotspot and a callout. You can then change what the screenshot says and share the result as a link, an embed or a file you keep.
Best for. Founders, product marketers and small sales teams who publish demos on a website, in launches and in sales emails, and pay by card.
Key features.
- Record with Proovyt Capture, a Chrome extension that only works on the tab you choose. A recording holds up to 200 steps.
- Blur, replace text and change numbers on any screenshot, on every plan, Free included. Blur is baked into the pixels when you publish or export.
- Hotspots, callouts, labels, highlights and step zoom up to 3x.
- Intro and end cards on every new demo.
- A brand kit for logos, colors and fonts on paid plans. A change reaches every linked demo, published and embedded ones included, with nothing to republish.
- Share as a hosted link or an embed on every plan. Export one self-contained HTML file on Creator, Pro and Team.
- HTML capture on Pro and Team, in beta.
- Hosted pages and embeds set no cookies, and analytics store no IP addresses.
Pricing. Free for 1 creator and 3 published demos. Creator $35 a month billed annually or $45 monthly. Pro $79 a month billed annually or $99 monthly. Team $49 per seat a month billed annually or $59 per seat monthly, from 2 seats.

How to Choose
Match the tool to the job you need done this quarter.
- You need to hide or change data on screens. Check whether text editing works on screenshots or only on HTML demos, and on which plan.
- You want to keep your work. Ask whether you can export a file that plays with no vendor connection.
- You are one person. Compare entry plans on watermark, demo count and analytics.
- You are a team of 2 to 10. Price the exact seat count. Read how much an interactive demo tool costs for a team.
